GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper, or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.1) Draw a vertical rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the upper boundary of the rectangle draw two vertical lines that will divide the rectangle by 3 equal parts. 3) From the middle of the right boundary of the rectangle, draw one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 4) Draw a horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Mark out where the griffin will be located. Draw 3 shapes to mark the body.

STEP 5. Form a clear head shape. Add lines for the beak, eye and ears. Draw the chest and the tip of the griffin's tail. Outline claws on the paws. Divide the wing into two unequal parts. Erase unnecessary lines.

STEP 6. Draw the beak and the front ear. Finish the tail by connecting the outline to the tip Erase unnecessary lines.

STEP 7. Draw the griffin's paws and claws. Outline the second ear, eye and mouth.

STEP 8. Work on the whole figure, paying special attention to detail. Draw the feathers and toes on the paws.
